Article - Being Young for Grade Increases Odds of ADHD Diagnosis

Article - Being Young for Grade Increases Odds of ADHD Diagnosis

This is another article that I am seeing a lot of in my current job.

I used to work primarily in high schools and a few middle schools.

Now that I am working in the K-8 world, I am a lot more involved in discussion of developmental maturity and chronological age as it relates to grade retention.

Grade retention is a very emotionally charged subject, and it probably would be a great discussion for a future post.

On a side-note, Malcolm Gladwell writes pretty convincingly on the impact of month of birth in competitive athletics in his book Outliers.
